1. About Foliovo

Foliovo ("we", "us", "our") is a portfolio review service that helps students preparing applications to UK creative arts courses. We provide AI-powered feedback on portfolio presentations using structured rubrics aligned with university admissions expectations.

Foliovo is operated as a sole trader business by Simon Brookes. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. The Service

Foliovo offers the following tiers:

• Free Scan (£0) — Compliance checks and a summary AI assessment with limited score visibility.
• Single Review (£19) — Full rubric-based AI review with detailed criterion scores, page-level annotations, AI chat support, and one re-review within 7 days.
• Application Bundle (£39) — Up to 5 full reviews within a 90-day window, plus access to the Personal Statement Builder.
• Personal Statement Builder (£9.99) — AI-guided mentoring to help you craft your UCAS personal statement. Includes unlimited statements. Also included in the Application Bundle at no extra cost.

Prices include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy B.V.), which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles all tax obligations on our behalf.

3. AI-Generated Content

Our AI-powered reviews are generated using large language models. While we design our rubrics and prompts to provide constructive, evidence-based feedback, AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies. Our reviews are formative guidance, not guarantees of admission outcomes.

Important: Foliovo does not judge the aesthetic quality of your work. We assess presentation, structure, evidence of process, and alignment with course-specific expectations.

The Personal Statement Builder uses AI as a conversational mentor to help you explore ideas, structure your thoughts, and refine your writing. The AI does not write your personal statement — the words are yours. UCAS runs similarity detection on personal statements, and content identified as AI-generated may affect your application.

4. Your Account

You must create an account via our authentication provider (Clerk) to access paid features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service, or have parental/guardian consent.

5. Your Portfolio

You retain full ownership of any portfolio files you upload. By uploading, you grant Foliovo a limited licence to process your files for the purpose of generating your review. We do not use your portfolio content to train AI models.

You must only upload work that you have the right to submit. Do not upload portfolios containing content you do not own or have permission to use.

6. Data and Privacy

We store your portfolio files and rendered page images in secure cloud storage (Supabase, EU region). Portfolio files are retained only as long as necessary to deliver the service. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at hello@contact.folovio.com to exercise these rights.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload malicious files or content that violates any law.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the service.
• Share your account with others or resell access to reviews.
• Use the service to generate content for fraudulent university applications.

8. Payments and Refunds

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. By purchasing a review, you agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service in addition to ours.

9. Limitation of Liability

Foliovo provides formative feedback to help improve your portfolio. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, including university admission. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service in question.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
